Kitchen Assistant (part time) Epinal Way Care Centre

Role: Kitchen Assistant, Permanent

Hours: Full time, average 32.5 hours per week

Shifts: Days 7:00am/7:30am till 6:30pm/7:00pm (5 to 6.5 hours per shift)

Salary: £8,72 plus, per hour, dependent on experience plus employee benefits

Location: Loughborough, LE11 3GD

About us

Our The Hall mental health unit is a 19 bedded unit that provides person centred care for individuals who need support from specialist staff without the restrictions of being detained under the mental health act or a hospital stay.

Requirements for our Kitchen Assistant

As our Kitchen Assistant you will be the heart of our care home as the key link between the main kitchen and the serving of food to our residents. You will be working with fantastic teams. preparing fresh, wholesome food like salads, sandwiches and vegetable preparation, cooking breakfasts, lunches and a freshly made hot dishes for evening mealtime. Serving meals and compilation of menus, maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules. Ensuring all preparation areas are kept clean. You will keep a close eye on stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures and following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines. From time to time, you will assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties. Preferred but not essential experience in working in a kitchen and hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people.

The ideal Kitchen Assistant

· Experience: Preferred but no essential

· Whenever you communicate with our service users or colleagues, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.

· We are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and will contribute to our ongoing success.

· Excellent communication

· Effective organisational skills to meet deadlines

· To remain resilient in the face of rejection and hostility from our service users.

· Knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to services and risk management

· Willing to work a rota pattern covering Breakfast, lunches and dinner and weekends, over a 7-day period.
