Grants and Fundraising Coordinator Job in Loughborough at The Bridge East Midlands –

Why work for The Bridge? Maybe you’ve known someone suffer without help, or perhaps you’re tired of seeing the same new stories about homelessness? Join us and you can help change lives.

Everyone at The Bridge has heaps of energy and positivity, and we are lucky to say we start every day knowing we can make a difference to local people. We are a small charity, but we’re also a close-knit family that’s organised, focussed and driven.

There are loads of great benefits to working for The Bridge, such as the extra holiday days or the flexible working. However, these benefits are not why you join in the first place… Or why you stay. From day one you’ll receive all the training you need. Here, helping you develop your career and skills is a top priority. We value you, partly because it’s the right thing to do, but also because it really helps you achieve what you came to The Bridge for: changing other people’s lives for the better.

This role, responsible for both individual and corporate fundraising, is a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in the development and growth of The Bridge (East Midlands), at a time of exciting changes and expansion.

The charity works to prevent and relieve homelessness across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. We pride ourselves on our person-centred approach and we are continually striving to improve, develop and create services to improve the lives of local people: your purpose will be to seek, identify and complete funding opportunities for us to continue our work.

You will be expected to consistently seek new funding opportunities and be pre-emptive of the needs of The Bridge; maintaining a pipeline of grant and trust funders and creating relationships where possible will be a key part of this role. We anticipate the post-holder to have an organised and detail-orientated mind to complete this.

At such a crucial time of growth for the organisation, you will need to remain organised and on-top of the administration of our systems and processes, so that no opportunity goes missed and no funder goes without proper stewardship. Furthermore, you will be expected to liaise with these grant funders regularly, and so a respectful, personable, and engaging manner is needed. A fantastic understanding of written communications will be needed to create funding applications, Cases for Support and donor relations that are powerful, persuasive and achieve much needed income.

With a pro-active and creative outlook, you will also lead on all Community Fundraising (individual and corporate), working closely with the Communications and Engagement Officer to ensure that fundraising campaigns are completed successfully and that donation targets are met. This sense of teamwork will be incredibly important, as you will be offering support to other colleagues when necessary, such as for larger tenders.

Application Process

If you are interested in applying to any of our vacancies, please download and complete the Application Form, listing the vacancies that you wish to be considered for.

Alongside the completion of this form, we would like you to record a short video (up to 2 and a half minutes long) to help us find out a little more about you. We are passionate about our Values, so in your video we would love to hear why you are passionate about fundraising and what you think makes a good fundraiser.

We care about finding the right people to join our team, and so your application will be graded against our Values; Quality, Respect, Empowerment, Positivity and Partnership. This will be a great chance for you to showcase your personality and your interests!

When you’ve completed your Application Form and video recording, you can email them to [email protected], where applications will then be shortlisted for interview.

We would prefer for you to send us your video recording as a YouTube link. This is very easy and you can do this by setting up an account, uploading your video and saving it as ‘Unlisted’ – which means that only people you send the link to can see your video.

While YouTube is our preferred method, if you are unable to do this please send us your video by email (or by WeTransfer.com if it is too large), to [email protected]

Check out our Top Tips for Filming a Video, to the right of this screen, to make sure you are sending in the best possible representation of yourself!

For more information on this fantastic opportunity you can contact Paul Snape, Deputy Chief Officer, on 01509 648221.
