This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and highly experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant to join a fast paced, dynamic and established large business offering a progressive and developing role. Experience in practice or with many clients or with outsource solutions will all help.

Job description

We are actively seeking a talented Bookkeeper / Accountant to provide bookkeeping / accounting services to a range of businesses from self-employed through to larger enterprises. You will help us grow this side of the business to provide bookkeeping, accounting and finance admin solutions to clients. Excellent Excel skills and a systemised approach will all help you succeed in this role.

Job Responsibilities

You will help manage all aspects of the organisation’s accounting requirements.

You will undertake a varied role in which the workload will include a mixture of management and year-end and management accounting as well as tax compliance work for a range of SME businesses.

You will have excellent experience of working in a varied general practice position including Accounts preparation and Tax compliance.

You will be an important member of the senior management team to help shape the business as we expand, therefore, profit sharing/share options will be available. You will be responsible for the hiring, development, and management of additional accounting and bookkeeping staff.

This role is more than your typical accountant position, you will develop into a well-rounded business adviser, working with a range of high performing and entrepreneurial businesses, and giving them the financial support to enable them to achieve their strategic goals.

The workload will be varied and will include the preparation and review of both year-end and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships as well as the completion and review of the associated tax compliance work.

Self-assessment tax return preparation.

Required Skills & Experience

10 years of bookkeeping / accounting

Strong use of Excel is essential

Use of Xero and Accounting Manager would be useful

Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay in layman terms

Dedicated and motivated

Self sufficient

High level knowledge of IT packages, including Word, Excel and computerised Finance systems.

A commitment to on-going personal and professional development

Driving licence – own transport.

Be a strong team player, customer and solutions-focused, and able to work on your own as well as in a team.

Strong autonomy and ability to work well under pressure.

A creative, high-energy person with “hands-on” mind-set.

Strong organisational, managerial, and time management skills

Able to work effectively with all levels within the organisation

Excellent writing and communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

Degree or equivalent educated

Experience of working with off-shore teams e.g. India
