Job Description:

The Accounting Specialist is a vital position in the accounting department – of the International Interior Design Association. The successful candidate will leverage a mix of traditional accounting processes and new technology skills to support the organization’s day to day internal and external communications with the association’s chapter leaders, international board members and vendors. The position requires a high degree of organizational skills, patience, and the ability to manage multiple companies. The candidate must be willing to work collaboratively with IIDA members and employees.

This is a permanent full-time position working within the accounting department and reporting directly to Lisa Taylor, Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Past experience with successful organization, ideally with a national/international association
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with responsibility in accounts payable, reporting, accounts receivable, and finance (preferably with an association).
  • Knowledge of fully integrated accounting systems and well-developed financial analysis capabilities
  • Experience with managing the account reconciliation process and coordination with other institutional departments

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Assist in daily accounting activities and special projects as needed
  • Assist with New Vendor setup and form collection
  • Communicate with multiple chapters
  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with ACH reconciliations
  • Invoicing
  • Process credit cards through several merchant systems
  • Assist with reconciliations of all payment processors
  • Collect annual W-9’s for 20 Companies
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Assist with annual audit, year-end closings, help prepare 1099’s,
  • Assist with 990 Group Return
  • Chapter Budget Management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
